If have been keeping my best secret hidden but I decided to let ppl know about it. There is a irc channel called lurk and it is an archive of almost every scanlated manga series that has ever come out, it also has many many RAWs. On top of all that they update their servers with the newest scanlations so fast that they seem to put it up the second the scanlators release it.
Now why would I reveal my secret, well because lurk wants it and needs it, they do the whole donations thing I am sure everyone is used to and while you personally might not donate I am sure someone reading this would.
As I have been saying for the last 6 months or so I have left Ragnarok and tried City of Heroes and World of Warcraft, finally settling on WoW. Got to level 60 a couple months ago. [Xino, on Eonar]
The thing is that for over a year now I have known about Gravity's plans to make a fully 3D Ragnarok 2, but unknown to me they released a sample video of it.
I gotta say even with everything WoW has I still miss Rag and if they go international with Rag 2 I will definitely go for it.
I wanted to post on the new Hellsing OVA, so I left my hiatus type state (hopefully this will happen more).
Just so everyone knows this is the full 50 min OVA not the Digest that everyone has seem to have already have seen during the last two weeks.
The pacing is much much better than the Digest, so unlike the Digest there is actually some character development. But just like with the Digest the animation just doesn't seem that much better than the old TV series, and I expect alot from a OVA production quality wise. Hopefully it gets even better as more episodes come.
Well obviously I haven't been updating like I was planning to, and every time I do I stop for a long period of time before starting again. At this point I am really not sure where to go. I kinda want to continue with the blog, but more than anything keep trying to push the forum, which the blog was originally made to promote.
I still do take screenshots of every new series out there but uploading them is where I fall flat. Maybe I should think of a new format that can bring some more excitement back to the task of updating, or atleast one that will bring more forum posters.
Update: suggestions are welcome, so do so. I have access to alot and I am willing to try various things.
Too much time has passed since my last update so I am going to skip to the most recent animes I have watched. Unfortunately some animes won't be covered because of this like Solty Rei and Hotori: Tada Saiwai o Koinegau.
But if you are curious about them don't hesitate to ask. I also wanted to say from now on if I do start to fall behind another skip can and will probably happen.
I wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas or what ever you celebrate. I also wanted to say that in a few days I will start to do the anime blogs again, but in order to chance up I am going to blow through the large number of episode pretty fast. So make sure to keep a look out on the list to the bottom right or the archive because you will miss some. I am also planning to add some new music to the music section, I was thinking of some Asian Kung Fu Generation, some Tommy February6, some Spitz/Honey & Clover songs, and maybe some Brilliant Green songs.
I'm going to spend the day watching more City Hunter and probably some Ghibli movies (Howl probably) since I started a tradition to watch Ghibli films and the movie Tokyo Godfather last x-mas.
I have been an anime fan for a long time and have seen various ads and stuff for a series called City Hunter. From the various series to the Jackie Chan movie based on it, I have kinda avoided watching, probably just because it was so big of a franchise. But knowing in advance that the new series Angel Heart was a new season of City Hunter I decided to check it out, and I loved it. From there I went to the Angel Heart manga to the original City Hunter manga to finally the City Hunter Anime. Right now I am around 2/3 through the second season of the anime (there's around 4 seasons), and since the first season was 51 episodes and this season is 63 you can imagine how many episodes I have seen in the last two weeks. Anyway I highly recommend it.
I have been a fan of most Japanese entertainment for years, which eventually led me to live action Japanese dramas, but in the past few months I have really been watching them non-stop. I have been watching them on TV for awhile since I was lucky enough to find a station that has the subtitled (used to watch RAWs of them on another channel). But the Densha Otoko craze is what brought me into them in a large degree.
I also personally recommend the series: Long Vacation, Orange Days, Trick, Trick 2, Trick 3, Slow Dance, Mokudono, Hero, Good Luck, Wedding Planner, and of course Densha Otoko, and GTO. If you know what types of anime I like you can basically guess how most of these series are.
2/16: I promised to upload Asian Kung-Fu Generation songs so I made sure to put some of my favorites. Even if you think you never heard them before I am sure if you watch enough anime you have.
In my opinion they are one of the best J-rock bands I have ever heard, so check them out.
